The Deep Groove is a vinyl listening lounge where music isn't background noise — it's the whole point. Our curated collection of records spans all decades and genres, played on cutting-edge audio equipment designed to fill the room with not just noise, but pure, unfiltered analog sound.

Mornings bring fresh-baked pastries along with single-origin Vennture coffee and Rishi herbal teas. By afternoon, focaccia sandwiches pair well with our selection of  natural wines. Come evening, our craft cocktails are smooth and balanced just like the perfect mix on a studio recording. 

This is a place for people who care about what goes in their ears as much as what goes in their glass.

Owners Kim Forbeck and Todd Dunsirn first met while at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, the same campus  where their middle son and current manager Henry was born. They've lived on the East Side for more than 30 years, Todd previously owning and operating his own company True Process and Kim working at the Urban Ecology Center as head of land stewardship. Henry previously worked at The Exclusive Company on  Farwell, The Jazz Estate, The Rave and elsewhere.

When the historic Charles Sikorski building, at the time occupied by Brady Street Futons,  went up for sale in 2024, Kim and Todd fell in love with the gorgeous  1930s tin tile on the walls and ceiling and overall turn-of-the-century charm.  They acquired the building and then spent almost a year and a half  fully rehabbing and renovating the property to prepare it for a return to its roots as  a classic corner bar. The entire front bar, back bar and mirror wall,  was handcrafted by Todd and carpenter Fred Longreen with help from Henry  and Fred's son Cody. Kim curated the interior, combining a cozy and eclectic mix of antique furniture and light fixtures to harken to the building's rich history.
